Safety Beach and Hidden Harbour
photos of Safety Beach

Safety Beach
Safety Beach, once known as Shark Bay, sits on the shores of Dromana Bay. There is a small jetty on the coast, while the coastal road of Marina Drive separates housing and commercial areas from the foreshore and the beach. Safety Beach is a particularly scenic spot, with walks and views to the peak of Mount Martha in the north and to Arthurs Seat in the south.

Safety Beach is home to a resort-style golf course, the Safety Beach Country Club, that surrounds a residential estate. Landscaped to a tropical theme, the 18 hole course features a restaurant, tennis courts, palm trees and several lakes.

Hidden Harbour
Hidden Harbour has been created as place that encourages you to interact with the landscape that surrounds you and the people you share it with. You’ll notice that the fences are low and that private backyards here a smaller than in your average suburb.

But you’ll also notice that there’s a lot more public open space like meandering walking and bike paths, kids' playgrounds, an exercise station and a all purpose grassy field where you can kick any type of ball. So as you enjoy barbecues, walks and bike rides or just relaxing and enjoying the view, you’ll see the familiar friendly faces of your neighbours doing the same.

Below please find a quick reference for things to do, places to stay and places to eat in Safety Beach. If enjoy reading about the history of the area, check out our Fascinating Historical Facts.
