Just down the road from Rosebud is one of the best kept secrets of the Peninsula, Rosebud West. The foreshore, known as Capel Sound has over 90 quaint Boatsheds scattered along the waterfront. In 2008 it swept the table clean of awards for the 'Keep Australia Beautiful Clean Beach Challenge'. Apart from being the overall 'Clean Beach Challenge' winner, it also won the best Commumnity Government Partnership Award, Community Action Award and was runner up for the Zero Waste Award.
Rosebud West has some unusual shops to browse in along with a great selection of cafes and restaurants, loads of caravan and camping parks including all year round foreshore camping and some great motels and self contained accommodation. So, when you visit the Peninsula, make sure you take a break at Rosebud West. |
